A few months have passed since I bought my XT-2, and they very busy ones. Both work and privet occupations left me little time to go out and shoot. But at least I did one thing: I liked the XT-2 that much that I bought the XF 10-24 lens and later on the XF 55-200 lens as well. I even found a Samyang 8mm f/2.8 Fisheye UMC II Fujifilm X and bought it. So for now I have the mm-range I need. Ready for the summer holiday you might say.
Yesterday I saw the opportunity to go out this morning. A rather early start this 13th of may, but hey, why not!
: grassland and a windmill with backlight, the Fujifilm X-T2 performs magnificent(!)
So I drove 30 minutes to the small county town Loenerveld near Utrecht in the middle of Holland in purpose of shooting a typical Dutch scene: flat land with a windmill. And this time the coulds worked with me.
: A testshot with the Fujifilm X-T2 Loenerveld, in the middle-west of the Netherlands.
The approach of the windmill was a rather tricky one, since your not allowed to enter from the main road. This because it belongs to ‘Waternet’, the water winning and distribution company in the west of the Netherlands. Fortunately at this time of the day (5:10 am) even the local farmer was still asleep, so I used his land to get close. Thx for this possibility mr. farmer, I couldn’t find another option!
: another testshot with the Fujifilm X-T2 with bright backlight and reflexion, directly in the lens. On the right the farmland, on the left ‘Waternet’ property.
The RAW-files are as expected: good Fujifilm quality. So the XT-2 is a keeper and goes with me this summer into the Dolomites and the Alps. The heavy Canon gear will stay at home this time. Let’s see how it all works out!
